Well, this is our last stopover: Wickenburg.
It is beautiful and breezy, the sky is blue and full of sunshine. I hate to jinx our luck by saying it but we
have had about 10 raindrops on this return trip (except for behind the toilet). We have really been lucky! When we get home, we’ll get into a few
repairs: the bin latch replacement and
the roof leak are the two main jobs.
We knew that Wickenburg had a restaurant that serves
walleye but, alas, it is closed. No
matter. We picked up some salmon to
grill tonight. On the side, cole slaw
with raisins and fresh southern pecans.
We’ve made a list of the many things that happened or
that we learned along the way since we left home on July 28th. Here they are:
1) In case of no tranquilizers, don’t store your
rv in hurricane alley. This applies especially
during hurricane season.
2) Always
try to pass through Wickenburg, AZ in case of walleye. (We found some fillets at a grocery store and
bought them out.)
3) Never
leave Cubby and Sunny unattended in an rv stored in hurricane alley in case of
hurricanes.
4) Double
and triple check each others’ work and hook-ups. We found the Jeep emergency brake set just
before towing but caught it in time.
5) Scout
each town for sports bars in case of football.
6) Be
ready for breakdowns and leaks. Don’t
panic!
7) Scout
out rv parts stores in case of toilet leaks.
8) Keep
your phone charged and call a taxi in case of martinis.
It is 3:45 PM on Sunday, October 1, 2017 and Old Faithful
Bee is turning into our driveway. We
made it! We are at Home Sweet Home Where
We Know What’s in the Drinks. I am
optimistic that the afterglow will carry us well into the holidays in case of
pumpkin pies. For now, this is all the
stories I have in my fingers. With love
to you all from Cubby, Sunny, Lindy and Rob.
